In recent years, digitization has triggered a profound transformation in many areas of the economy and society. For small and medium-sized enterprises in particular, the use of digital technologies is now essential to remain competitive. One of the biggest challenges for SMEs is to keep pace with rapidly changing technologies and trends. The Austrian KMU Digital program therefore promotes individual consulting for Austrian SMEs by certified consultants. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Austria are supported by the program in planning, implementing and successfully launching digitization projects on the market. This helps these companies become more competitive and generate important growth and employment impulses for the whole economy.
KMU Digital Fundings.
1. Status & Potential Analysis
Together with a consultant, digital trends, opportunities and risks are analyzed and a structured trend overview as well as a first plan for their implementation is created.
FUNDING: 80%
Costs: 500 EUR | of which 400 EUR are funded = 100 EUR, net
Scope: approx. 5 hours (incl. Preparation of the consultant report)
Place: Online via video conference, on site in Vienna or directly at your premises
2. Strategy & Concept Consulting
This module covers numerous topics, such as product development, digital media, process renewal with attention to data protection, and logistics topics.
FUNDING: 50%
Costs: 2.000 EUR | of which 1.000 EUR are funded = 1.000 EUR, net
Scope: approx. 15 – 20 hours (incl. Preparation of the consultant report)
Place: Online via video conference, on site in Vienna or directly at your premises
3. Implementing of Digital Projects
This module promotes the introduction of digital applications across the entire value chain in your company, in order to optimize products, services or processes.
FUNDING: 30%
Costs: max. 6.000 EUR Funding for new investments subject to capitalization
Requirements: for the implementation funding, among other things, a previously approved and carried out funded consultation is necessary.

3. Implementing of Digital Projects
This module promotes the introduction of digital applications across the entire value chain of your company, in order to optimize products, services or processes.
FUNDING: 30%
Costs: max. 6.000 EUR Funding for new investments subject to capitalization
Requirements: for the implementation funding, among other things, a previously approved and carried out funded consultation is necessary.
The funding from the KMU Digital program is paid out to your company in form of a tax-free grant. The process is quick and easy. The application can be carried out completely digitally. Only a few basic company details are required. Among other things, the Austrian KUR number of your company is necessary, this should be requested in advance in the USP – Company Service Portal. Requirements for eligibility of the KMU Digital grant:
Companies that want to receive funding must be a small or medium-sized enterprise that has an active business license and its registered office or permanent establishment in Austria at the time of the consultation or implementation.

In my private life as well as in my professional career, I am a big fan of digital solutions that make my daily life simpler for myself and my customers, e.g. by making collaborative work easier and increase productivity. In addition to my self-employed work, which I have been running as a creative agency since 2014 and as a business & digital consultant since 2019, I have also gained very valuable experience in various companies over the past few years. In my position as CFO in a hardware startup, I was able to learn a lot in the field of financial tech, which continued to also help me in other client projects during my self-employment. From 2020 – 2021, I was a managing director of a consulting and research company in the user experience sector, where I was able to further sharpen my digital skills. Despite my positions at these companies, I have always continued to pursue my self-employment and in 2022 I refocused full-time on this activity as a consultant.
My client portfolio is very diverse, both in terms of their degree of digitalization and innovative strength, but also in terms of the industry they are in. These range from the construction and real estate industries, to the medical sector and the food industry, to the fashion and creative industries.
